Jeff Doerner Environmental Data Resources, Inc. (EDR) is the leading national provider of environmental risk information and now provides environmental hazard reports for residential property transactions. Jeff will be providing information on offering Neighborhood Environmental Reports. This service can be offered as both a stand alone service and a logical add-on service for home inspectors to provide that does not require additional time on-site. Offering Neighborhood Environmental Reports is an opportunity to increase your bottom line – EDR’s wholesale price to certified inspectors is $50 and the suggested retail price is $150 – you can earn $100 per report sold with a reasonable initial cost for training. With the entire country “going green” and with more and more media attention focused on issues where environmental hazards have created problems for many families, the request for and prevalence of reports with this type of information is going to increase. Jeff will show you how you can market these services without being looked at as a "deal killer" with yet another roadblock to a real estate agent's sale, but allow an opportunity for the buyers agent to be a hero. About EDR: EDR the nation’s largest environmental reporting company that produces over 750,000 reports annually. Our reports are comprised of local, county, state, and governmental records that consist of known or potential contamination incidents that include Landfills, Leaking Tanks, Superfund Sites, Military Bases, Meth Labs, and many others. Traditionally EDR's reports were used for Commercial Real Estate transactions by lenders and environmental consultants trying to assess risk before a property is purchased (also known as a Phase 1). More recently though, EDR has been receiving inquiries from home buyers and real estate agents looking to obtain our data on residential properties. EDR is attributing this trend to the availability of information on the internet and today’s savvy home buyer. Because of this new appetite for environmental information and the emergence of environmental reporting legislation in some states (CA, AZ, CT, WA, and MA) EDR has decided to launch their Residential Services Division. Their business model calls for partnering with Home Inspection Firms to provide The EDR Neighborhood Environmental Report as an additional service to home buyers that wish to perform proper due diligence. Join us for an informative evening and an excellent buffet dinner.
